Ilias Lois

Ilias Lois

Ilias Lois is a visual artist who works primarily with photography. He studied at the Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts at the School of Applied Arts and Culture of the University of West Attica and at the School of Fine Arts in Venice.

His work has been exhibited in international institutions, festivals and magazines including the Benaki Museum, Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum, Stereosis Gallery and Klompching Gallery of New York.

He is a curator of the international photography magazine Velvet Eyes, a member of the editorial team of the photography theory and criticism hub Aldebaran and has curated exhibitions for the Athens Photo Festival.

Ilias Lois

In 2018, he received the international Lensculture Emerging Talent Award for his photo series Aisle Seat. The same year, he started working as an educator undertaking courses on visual storytelling with photography.

In 2019 he published his first photobook entitled Golden Peak.

Since 2021 he has been collaborating with the Hellenic Centre of Photography.

Currently attending MA Photography: Research and Methodology in the Uniwa.
